1. Acceptance of Terms
By engaging Balanced Home Living for any renovation, design, or installation service, you acknowledge
that you have read, understood, and accepted these terms in full. These terms apply to all
projects from initial consultation through final handover and post-completion warranty period.
Any deviation must be agreed upon in writing by both parties.
2. Scope of Renovation Services
Our services include full home renovations, interior and exterior design, kitchen and bathroom
remodeling, roofing, gutter installation, flooring, door and window installation, home security
systems, fire safety items, lawn installations, solar panel setup, home warranty and insurance
advisory, real estate consulting, and home mortgage partnerships. Each project's exact scope is
defined in a separate written agreement.
3. Project Estimates & Quotations
All estimates provided are preliminary and based on the information available at the initial
consultation. Final quotations are issued only after detailed site assessment, material
selection, design finalization, and structural inspection. Quotes remain valid for thirty
calendar days from the date of issue, after which they may be subject to revision based on
material and labor cost fluctuations.
4. Design Approvals & Revisions
Each design phase — concept, schematic development, and detailed drawing — requires your written
approval before proceeding to the next stage. Revisions beyond the agreed number of iterations
specified in your contract may incur additional design fees, which will always be communicated
and approved by you in advance before any additional work commences.
5. Material Selection & Procurement
You approve all materials, finishes, and fixtures before ordering. If selected items become
unavailable due to supply chain issues or discontinuation, we propose alternatives of comparable
quality and value for your approval. Custom, imported, or specialty materials may require
extended lead times and non-refundable deposits with suppliers, which will be clearly
communicated upfront.
6. Construction Timeline & Milestones
Project timelines are outlined in your contract and organized in clearly defined milestones with
payment triggers. While we strive to meet every deadline, factors beyond our control — such as
supply chain delays, weather conditions, hidden structural issues, or permit processing delays —
may affect the schedule and will be communicated promptly with revised timelines provided.
7. Payment Schedule & Terms
Payments are typically structured as an initial deposit upon contract signing, milestone-based
installments tied to project phases, and a final payment upon project handover. Late payments
may pause work until settled. All fees, applicable taxes, and any surcharges are detailed
transparently in your project contract with no hidden costs or surprise charges.
8. Site Access & Preparation
You agree to provide safe, reasonable access to the project site during agreed working hours and
to clear the work area of fragile, valuable, or hazardous items before construction begins. We
take every precaution, but are not responsible for pre-existing damage, undisclosed hazards, or
items left in the work zone discovered during demolition or construction activities.
9. Change Orders & Modifications
Any deviation from the agreed scope — whether additions, removals, design changes, or material
substitutions — must be documented through a formal change order signed by both parties before
work proceeds. Change orders may adjust both the project cost and timeline accordingly, and all
changes will be tracked and summarized in your final project documentation.
10. Warranties & Guarantees
We provide a two-year warranty on workmanship covering installation and labor, and a ten-year
warranty on structural elements including load-bearing walls and major structural modifications.
Manufacturer warranties apply to installed appliances, fixtures, and materials. Warranty does
not cover damage caused by misuse, neglect, unauthorized alterations, or natural disasters.
11. Insurance & Liability
Balanced Home Living carries comprehensive general liability insurance and workers' compensation coverage
for all on-site personnel. We are responsible for our team and workmanship on site. Clients are
advised to maintain their own homeowner's insurance throughout the renovation period and to
notify their insurer of any major work being undertaken on the property.
12. Dispute Resolution & Cancellation
In the rare event of a disagreement, we commit to good-faith negotiation first, followed by
formal mediation if unresolved, before any arbitration or legal proceedings. Either party may
cancel a project with written notice subject to payment for work completed, materials ordered,
and non-refundable deposits paid to suppliers on the client's behalf.
